Dum Dum Girls, Male Bonding split RSD exclusive

Artist: Dum Dum Girls and Male Bonding
Title: Split 7"
Label: Sub-Pop Records
Release date: April 17, 2010

Here's a Record Store Day find featuring two solid tracks from a couple of Sub-Pop's newest and best recording stars.

The Dum Dum Girls' offering, "Pay For Me", captures everything that's right about this band. On this song and others, the band does the whole Black Tambourine crossed with 60's pop thing as well as anyone, and their choruses are usually beefed up to where it sounds like a whole army of Dee Dees are shouting their hearts out.

Male Bonding is an awesome three-piece band from England who, like The Dum Dum Girls, recently signed with the label Nirvana made famous. Their song for this release is called "Before It's Gone" and, like their countrywomen from Wet Dog, this group's take on fuzzed-out post-punk makes for some dance-worthy tunes.

The simple yet durable packaging is cool, and like most record labels Sub Pop kindly gives you a download card.
